Our Story
Lynda Halls is the owner and Head Chef of the new Lyndio's Catering and the former owner and Chef of the Country Cottage Café and Gift Shop. Lynda has been providing food services in the Phoenix Arizona, East Valley Area since 2006. She began in Old Town Chandler and then moved to the City of Gilbert. Lynda took her retirement from working over 20 years for the Chambers of Commerce and at the age of 61 in 2005 she opened her first Country Cottage Gift Shop. After nine months she turned the gift shop into the Country Cottage Café and just one year later the tiny Café was too small to accommodate the lunch crowd and Lynda moved her business to Gilbert. Customers found once again a charming, quaint, whimsical gathering place to enjoy with the same great food and social dining, a place where old memories were remembered and new ones created.
For the past four years Lynda has provided east Valley residents with a delightful, charming gathering place that was enjoyed and loved. Lynda offered delicious and beautifully presented contemporary, American comfort foods. These are served for breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunches, also group gatherings and private events.
In January 2010 due to economic changes of 2009 the Country Cottage Café closed it's doors leaving the community one less place to enjoy great tasting food and one less place to gather with friends and family. Just before closing Lynda was presented the Best of Greater Phoenix Award for the year 2009 in two categories: Best of Greater Phoenix Comfort Food and Best of Greater Phoenix Lunch. This was a rewarding end to a year of struggles. Even after closing, customers still wanted the delicious foods from the Country Cottage Café and this is why Lyndio's Catering was born.)
Lyndio's Catering will offer many of the same wonderful foods that customers have experienced in the past along with many new dishes added for a better variety for catering.
Lynda will continue to offer a "Taste of Home" in all her new menu creations. She will expand her service to anyone wanting to learn more about providing a taste of comfort foods and learn the art of cooking. Lynda offers private and group cooking classes.
Her cooking classes are adapted for the beginning cook and those more advanced. Anyone who wants to learn the art of creating new dishes and those who want to learn the traditional comfort recipes that our Grandma's served.
Lynda continues to look forward to the opportunity of sharing Grandma's dishes as well as her own creations with all who appreciate and love good home cooking.
